Warts refer to the solid growths on the skin. They are common both in children and adults. They are frequently result by the virus human papillomavirus (HPV). They can look on every part of the body including genitals. Some also submit to it as skin tumors. They are a problem for 7 to 10 percent of the population. Viruses enter the body through the skin or mucous membrane. Warts can be transmitted from one person to another and they can travel from one part of the body to another. There are different types of warts. Flat warts are also known as juvenile warts, plantar warts, filiform warts and venereal warts known as genital warts.
The chance of spreading the warts augments if your skin is damaged or wet. Public swimming places are a common place to catch this disease. People with weakened immune systems are especially sensitive to HPV and wart infections. They usually do not produce symptoms for one to eight months after entering the body. Warts come in various shapes and sizes and usually appear as rough elevations on the skin. These elevations appear more frequently on the fingers, elbows, knees, face, and scalp. When warts appear, they are usually skin-colored and feel rough to the touch, but they can also be dark, flat, and smooth.
Many over-the-counter wart treatments are available that remove hand and foot warts. Some of the common home remedies are the best way for treatment of warts. The home remedies are slowly gaining popularity as being much more effective in treatments at a negligible cost. Application of tea tree oil to the area for 7-10 days will melt the wart. Use vitamin A oil from fish oil or fish-liver-oil by applying it on the wart. Apply this once a day, it takes lot of time but the results would be positive. Castor oil is another thing that helps in eliminating warts. The oil should be applied directly to the wart and then the area should be massaged.
Castor oil should be done twice every day for a number of weeks, until the warts start to vanish. Inner side of banana can be also used to treat wart by taping it on the wart. Apply a drop of grape fruit extract on the region 3-4 times a day and cover it with some cloth or bandage for warts removal. This is a good home remedy for wart. Strengthening one’s immune system is an objective of some forms of alternative treatment. A stronger immune system may be able to fight off the viruses that cause warts. A well-balanced diet rich in vitamins A, C, and E may help strengthen the immune system.
